Saint-Gobain 2285-2 - High-Temperature, Extruded, Oriented, High-Modulus PTFE Film Tape - 36 Yards

Saint Gobain

18-.75H-2285-2

Saint-Gobain 2285-2 is manufactured from extruded, oriented, high-modulus PTFE film coated with high-temperature pressure-sensitive adhesive. The high-temperature resistance and anti-stick properties of PTFE make it and ideal product to be used as a release surface. Extremely durable and abrasion resistant, it will not curl or wrinkle making it long-wearing and easy to apply. It will not leave an adhesive residue when removed, resulting in less equipment downtime.

Applications: It is an ideal tape for protecting extrusion and laminating equipment during the plastic extrusion coating process which combines plastic films with various substrates, most commonly paper. During this process, plastics are extruded onto the substrate as it passes between a neoprene roller and a cooling roller. It is used as a roller wrapping tape to protect the exposed ends of the neoprene roller from the molten plastic which is over-coated wider than the substrate.
